No.16 Kōyōzan Senjuin Kannonji
A compact temple in a quiet residential area of Tokushima City. A two-story bell-tower gate creates a heavy presence in the small precincts. The main hall enshrines a life-size Senju Kannon said to be carved by Kōbō Daishi. Ema (votive plaques) of repentance and the “Night-Crying Jizō,” believed to help children, reflect living folk faith and prayer.
I like to travel, and whenever I have time, I walk all over the place. He is particularly knowledgeable about the Shikoku Pilgrimage and enjoys talking about the temples and the journey. I like talking to people and value encounters.

Key relief point after the long mountain stretch: first place to properly resupply, eat, and sleep if you came from T12 without Kamiyama. Small, compact, friendly temple with a pleasant resting area.
