No.57 Futōzan Muryōjuin Eifukuji
A quiet temple nestled in the hills. The site is associated with prayers by Kūkai to calm storms and maritime disasters. Without a formal gate, the temple retains a simple atmosphere. A local legend tells of a young pilgrim who traveled by handcart and was miraculously healed, giving rise to prayers for leg and back health. The gentle rural scenery enhances its peaceful mood.
I like to travel, and whenever I have time, I walk all over the place. He is particularly knowledgeable about the Shikoku Pilgrimage and enjoys talking about the temples and the journey. I like talking to people and value encounters.

Modern, well-kept, centered-feeling temple with notably good energy despite small size. Nice Kōbō Daishi statue, interesting roof architecture, and well-presented inner decorations; includes Buddha-footprints feature (wish/ritual). Reflects Shinto–Buddhist syncretism and is linked to the head priest’s memoir ‘I Am a Monk’ (later adapted as a film).
