No.37 Fujiisan Gochiin Iwamotoji
A nature-rich temple by the Shimanto River. The main hall’s coffered ceiling displays 575 painted panels donated from across Japan—including some modern works—creating a rare atmosphere. Highlights include the oldest Daishi Hall on site and a circular Kangiten Hall. A distinctive temple where river-country freshness and prayer interweave.
I like to travel, and whenever I have time, I walk all over the place. He is particularly knowledgeable about the Shikoku Pilgrimage and enjoys talking about the temples and the journey. I like talking to people and value encounters.

Originally located ~2 km NW at the more scenic Takaoka Jinja site (visit via Nature Trail to avoid big roads). Excellent and famous temple shukubō; tsuyadō exists but is very basic/garage-like. Main hall ceiling has 575+ paintings; one of the only temples enshrining five principal deities. On-site okuno-in dedicated to Jizō Bosatsu.
