No.42 Ikkasan Birushanain Butsumokuji
A modest temple in the fields of Mimamachi, Uwajima. The thatched bell tower is an early-Edo structure with a rare appearance. A livestock-guardian hall reflects prayers for animals, while the main hall enshrines Dainichi Nyorai said to be carved by Kōbō Daishi. A straight, uncluttered approach and quiet air connect people, animals, and nature through long-standing devotion.
I like to travel, and whenever I have time, I walk all over the place. He is particularly knowledgeable about the Shikoku Pilgrimage and enjoys talking about the temples and the journey. I like talking to people and value encounters.

Small, scenic rural temple with a distinctive thatched-roof bell tower (rare). Some English spoken; proper rest hut just outside the gate. Known as a guardian-of-animals temple linked to oxen/compassion; pilgrims pray for livelihood and remembrance. Little lodging nearby, so continue toward Seiyo/Temple 43; route includes a steep hill (tunnels on main road or official hillside path) and passes an okuno-in on the walking route.
