No.14 Seijuzan Enmein Jorakuji
A distinctive temple on the mid-slope of Mt. Tatsuga in southwest Tokushima City. There is no traditional gate; instead, stone pillars open onto a garden of flowing rock and water. The principal image is Miroku Bosatsu (Maitreya), the “Buddha of the future,” uniquely among the 88 temples. With its unusual garden, the Araragi Daishi associated with health prayers, and other features, it offers quiet hope and present-moment calm.
I like to travel, and whenever I have time, I walk all over the place. He is particularly knowledgeable about the Shikoku Pilgrimage and enjoys talking about the temples and the journey. I like talking to people and value encounters.

Unique temple built on exposed rock—walk on the bare stone surface. Many miss the inner sanctuary: find the small shrine behind the temple (~100 m) and continue uphill another ~50–60 m to the Okuno-in.
