No.5 Mujinzan Shōgonin Jizoji
A warm, welcoming temple in Itano, Tokushima. At the center rises the “Tarachine Great Ginkgo,” over 800 years old—often described as embracing visitors like a mother. The principal image is famed for blessings for victory prayers and safe return. The Daishi Hall is a Registered Tangible Cultural Property. A five-minute walk leads to the Gohyaku Rakan Hall, where 200 rakan statues deepen the sense of history and faith.
I like to travel, and whenever I have time, I walk all over the place. He is particularly knowledgeable about the Shikoku Pilgrimage and enjoys talking about the temples and the journey. I like talking to people and value encounters.

Visit the hidden inner sanctuary north of the temple with the 500 Buddha statues before entering the main grounds. Simple, calm temple with a fine Kōbō Daishi statue and a large ginkgo tree. Toilets are near the stamp office in the northeast corner.
