A quiet temple at the foot of the mountains in Anan, Tokushima. Passing through a dignified two-story gate, you find a seated Yakushi Nyorai in the main hall. The Daishi Hall houses rare statues of Kōbō Daishi’s disciples—don’t miss them. “Kōbō’s Sacred Water,” said to have been dug by the Daishi, still springs here, conveying vows to heal suffering equally.
I like to travel, and whenever I have time, I walk all over the place. He is particularly knowledgeable about the Shikoku Pilgrimage and enjoys talking about the temples and the journey. I like talking to people and value encounters.

Milestone of relief after T20–T21: feels like completion and a reset before the beautiful coastal stretch to T23. Welcoming main hall with notable paintings and a seating area. Excellent logistics for accommodation and resupply; perfect setup for a one-day walk to Hiwasa and T23.
