No.31 Godaisan Konjikinin Chikurinji
A renowned temple near the summit of Mt. Godaisan in Kōchi City. It is the only Shikoku pilgrimage temple with Monju Bosatsu (Mañjuśrī) as principal image and is counted among “Japan’s Three Great Monju.” The treasure hall displays Important Cultural Property statues; a fully cypress-built five-story pagoda and celebrated garden enrich the grounds. A balanced space of grandeur and quiet depth.
I like to travel, and whenever I have time, I walk all over the place. He is particularly knowledgeable about the Shikoku Pilgrimage and enjoys talking about the temples and the journey. I like talking to people and value encounters.

Large hilltop temple approached through a park; iconic red pagoda and big main hall. Nearby Fudō Myōō okuno-in is almost on site. Many pilgrims enter from the back—descend the official staircase to reach the stamp office. Paid garden/tea viewing area is worth it; lively with many visitors and students.
