A temple surrounded by homes in Tokushima City. A vermilion warrior-style gate stands out, and the main hall enshrines the rare Seven Buddhas Yakushi—unusual even nationally. The “Omokage Well,” said to have been dug by Kōbō Daishi in a single night, remains on site. A place of legend and devotion that leaves a lingering aftertaste in the heart.
I like to travel, and whenever I have time, I walk all over the place. He is particularly knowledgeable about the Shikoku Pilgrimage and enjoys talking about the temples and the journey. I like talking to people and value encounters.

Grand temple—seek out the famous sacred well. One of the best tsuyadō shelters sits right on the grounds in front of the Daishidō (small separate building). Great nearby infrastructure (shops, konbini, restaurants) and a good ‘breathing point’ before the tough Tokushima city section.
