No.43 Genkōzan Entenin Meisekiji
A calm satoyama temple in Uwa, Seiyo City. Stone walls and cedar groves create a nostalgic “original Japan” atmosphere. Past the solid gate, the main hall ceiling paintings of pine, bamboo, and cranes feel soothing, and the paired “Husband-and-Wife Cedars” stand close together. Nature, history, and prayer rest quietly in harmony.
I like to travel, and whenever I have time, I walk all over the place. He is particularly knowledgeable about the Shikoku Pilgrimage and enjoys talking about the temples and the journey. I like talking to people and value encounters.

Seiyo is a recommended stop with full infrastructure and several museums (History & Culture; Uwawa Rice Museum; Folk Tools Museum). Calm town before a long big-road stretch toward Ozu and distant Temple 44. Strong detour recommendation: Bekkaku #7 (Shuseki-ji) for a special mountain stay (basic shukubō) and Bekkaku #8 for the bridge legend origin and ‘sleeping Kōbō Daishi’ statue on the way toward Temple 44.
